Wild Night Covering Weather

It has been a wild night covering weather. It has been a while since we have had to do "wall to wall" coverage like this. Was fun but tiring. Had a few "unconfirmed" touchdowns. We will have to wait a couple of days to find out if they were "real" tornadoes. I am ready for my vacation.

Tornado Watch

Get ready for rounds of storms tonight. Parts of Central Mississippi are under a Tornado Watch until 6pm...but most likely it will be extended. It has been a while since we last had to deal with severe weather so make sure you are prepared.

What A Guy!

The gentleman on your right gave $10,000 to Stewpot to help them buy turkeys for this year's Thanksgiving. His name is Rick Estel and runs Rick's Pro Trucks in Flowood. This is what the holiday season should be about. I wish I had a truck so I could throw some business his way. What a guy!

What Would Happen????

As the automakers are asking for a bailout from the people of the U.S. I find myself asking what would happen if the money doesn't come? We are all sure that the three would declare bankruptcy, but what does that mean to me and you? Would that mean we couldn't find parts for our american cars? Would dealers close down? Would bankruptcy cause the american automakers to start making cars that people want at a price they can afford? Would this make them focus again on customer service? These are just questions that are crossing my mind. What would happen?

Thanks To My Loved Ones...

You really know how many people love and care for you when you have something traumatic happen in your life. I did have to put my beloved Whiskers put down this morning. It was the best thing to do no matter how hard it was. I was there with her as she passed. I felt it was the least I could do. She had been there during many lows of my life and offered me unconditional love.

Since this morning, I have had family, friends and co-workers comfort me as I now grieve over the loss. This will be a long process for me since Whiskers had been my companion for over 10 years. I am having her cremated and her ashes returned to me.

My brain continues to bring up thoughts of did I do the right thing? Was she going to get better? Was she really that bad off? These are thoughts that I will have to come to grips with and I will realize that yes, it was her time to go. I feel that if I was in that condition I would want someone to let me peacefully go to sleep.

I know that one day when I see the Pearly Gates, my dear Whiskers will be there wagging her tail waiting on me. Just like she always was when I came home.

My Whiskers

Farewell To An Old Friend

It is time to say goodbye to an old friend. My dog, Whiskers, is not
doing too well. Her health has gone downhill drastically over the last
few days, now it is time to say goodbye. She has been there during the
good and bad times, always giving me unconditional love. I will miss
her more then I can imagine. She has made the last 10 years a blast no
matter where I was on the roller coaster of life.

Farewell To The White Board

The Associated Press is reporting that Tim Russert has died. He was the DC Bureau Chief for NBC News. We will miss the famous "white board" during election coverage. He was one of the great journalists and will sorely be missed.

What is Up With This Heat????

What is up with this heat? It is only June and it feels like August here in Mississippi. I am dreading the end of summer because it will only get hotter. What's the weather like in your "neck of the woods"?

Belhaven Burglaries

I am hearing that there were some car break ins in the Belhaven neighborhood yesterday. I hear that nearly 17 cars had windows smashed out. We are working on this story and I will advise with anymore information. I do know personally that police presence in the neighborhood has increased dramatically in the last 24 hours. They even had a "checkpoint" at Greymont and Poplar last night. More to come....

Shuttle Landing

The Space Shuttle is scheduled to land this morning. I guess I am weird because I never miss a launch or a landing. The first landing opportunity is at 8:07am central time. NASA has a landing blog set up and it is pretty neat. They are landing the shuttle early because the Feds need to shoot down a spy satellite.
